Traxial is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will be taking part in all design and development aspects of inverter solutions, strengthening our team of power electronics experts. You will be responsible for innovating, designing, integrating, and testing power electronics for our axial flux motors.

We are looking for a motivated engineer with a background in Power Electronics design and testing who is passionate about electrical machines and inverters. You will be working in our brand new power electronics lab and validating both Traxial and supplier inverters in lab conditions and paired with our motors on our state-of-the-art in-house testbench.

For this role, you will be working closely together with several members of our R&D department, and the testing and project management team.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Developing our Traxial inverters together with your power electronics colleagues.

  • External inverter selection and optimization (e.g. through control strategies) for getting the best performance out of our motors.

  • Planning, organizing, and executing tests of Traxial and external inverters.

  • Generating Technical Reports with data interpretation of the tested and developed inverters compared to the customer or internal requirements.

  • Coordinating with external suppliers for the sourcing of power electronics components.

  • Ensure the Power Electronics Lab safety, maintenance, and operation are maintained at all times.

  • Ensuring work complies with ISO9001 and automotive procedures and standards.

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience working with gate drivers, power electronics, high voltage DC sources, and interfacing with microprocessor and sensor systems.

  • Strong engineering background with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience setting up and safely operating power electronics equipment to standard operating procedures in a high voltage environment (1000V).

  • Capable of problem-solving and debugging electrical systems and measurements.

  • Familiar with industry best practices for hardware development.

  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organization.

  • Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW preferred.

  • Willingness to travel as required, for customer or partnership support.
