Traxial is looking for a Senior Motor Test Engineer to join our rapidly growing team.

You will take responsibility for the test and validation of our axial flux motors and inverters. You will be responsible for managing our testing activities, for both internal and external testing. You will also define and create test plans, execute tests, collect and analyze data, create test reports, and discuss outcomes with engineering.

We are looking for a motivated engineer with a solid background in EV motor testing who is passionate about electrical machines and inverters. In this role, you will be working closely together with several members of our R&D department and your colleagues from the testing team, as well as teaming up with a test technician for the test execution.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Improve and manage our test process from a budget and timing perspective.

  • Plan, organize, and execute both internal and external tests of EV motors and inverters, according to internal and/or customer requirements or specifications.

  • Generate Technical Test Reports with data interpretation of the tested motors and inverters compared to customer requirements.

  • Define specifications for mechanical fixturing and test measurement equipment.

  • Post-process and analyze data of test batches to evaluate the repeatability and robustness of test processes and products.

  • Establish relationships and coordinate with external test centers to drive and support specific test campaigns

  • Ensure the test bench's safety, maintenance, and operation at all times.

  • Ensure all test-related work complies with ISO and automotive procedures and standards.

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on experience working in a test environment in electrical/mechanical testing, preferably electrical motors or power electronics, or equivalent.

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, and Automotive engineering.

  • Strong engineering background with excellent program management, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience setting up and safely operating test equipment to standard operating procedures in a high voltage environment (1000V).

  • Capable of creating, improving, and executing test procedures.

  • Capable of problem-solving and debugging electrical systems and measurements.

  • Excellent observation skills to ensure good test data collection.

  • Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organization.

  • Proficiency in Python and LabVIEW preferred.

  • Willingness to travel for testing support as required.
